Why we scored our own automation readiness before building this site

The AI Automation Readiness Score on this site (try it) started as a client-facing tool: seven questions across process repeatability, data readiness, tooling maturity, team ownership, organizational buy-in, budget clarity, and risk tolerance, scored 0-3 each and mapped to a band.

Before shipping it, we ran it against our own plan for this launch — treating 'build a knowledge-graph content engine for a new brand' as the process being scored. It came back Pilot-Ready, not Scale-Ready: strong on process repeatability and tooling (we'd already run this exact pattern once, for the industrial site) but weaker on organizational buy-in and risk tolerance for an unproven new brand, since nobody outside the team had validated the idea yet.

That's the honest use case for a tool like this: it doesn't predict success. It forces you to separate 'I have a good idea' from 'the conditions around this idea are actually in place' — which is the same gap we see most stalled AI projects fall into, whether it's ours or a client's.
