Vendor Lock-In
The real cost and difficulty of switching away from a vendor once your business depends on their specific platform.
Lock-in isn't inherently a mistake — every platform choice creates some switching cost — but it becomes a real risk when a vendor's pricing, roadmap, or reliability changes and switching away would mean rebuilding significant parts of your system. Worth weighing explicitly against a platform's convenience, not discovered only when you need to leave.
