Embedding
A numerical representation of text (or other data) that captures its meaning.
An embedding model converts text into a vector of numbers positioned in a high-dimensional space such that similar meanings end up close together. Embeddings are the foundation of semantic search and RAG systems — they let a system find 'similar meaning' rather than just 'exact keyword match.'
