1. List repeatable workflows
Write down the tasks your team does the same way, repeatedly, with clear rules — these are the best automation candidates.
2. Separate rules from judgment
For each task, identify what's a clear rule (automatable) vs. what needs human judgment (not, or not yet).
3. Estimate current cost
Roughly how much time/money the manual version costs today — this is what a return-on-investment case gets compared against.
