Data Residency
The requirement that data be stored (and sometimes processed) within a specific geographic or legal jurisdiction.
Data residency requirements come from regulation, contracts, or internal policy specifying where data physically lives — relevant when choosing an AI provider or hosting model, since not every model API or cloud region satisfies every jurisdiction's rules.
