System Prompt
Instructions given to an AI model that set its behavior for the whole conversation, before any user input.
The system prompt establishes the model's role, constraints, and behavior (e.g. tone, what it should and shouldn't do) independent of what the user types. It's the primary lever for shaping how an AI application behaves consistently.
